Statutory Assessment Information
In the Summer Term, children in Year 6 will take the SATs tests. These tests in English and Maths reflect the 2014 National Curriculum.
At the end of Year 6, children will sit tests in:
- Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling
These tests will be both set and marked externally. Your child’s marks will be used in conjunction with teacher assessments (including those for writing) to give a broader picture of their attainment by the end of KS2.
Also during May, the Year 2 children will take part in the end of KS1 assessments for Reading, Writing, GPaS and Maths. These are used alongside teacher assessments to give a broader picture of their attainment by the end of KS1.

Year 1 Phonics Screening Check (PSC)
During June, all Year 1 children take part in the Phonics Screening Check. This is a word reading test which is a good indicator of future reading success. If they do not score 32 or more on the check, they will resit the screening check in Year 2.

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Test (MTC)
In June, the Year 4 children take the Multiplication Tables Test (MTC) which determines whether they can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will also help your child’s school to identify if your child may
need additional support.
