Good afternoon.

We are thrilled to share news of our upcoming Events.
Please also find details of our ongoing service offer at the end of this email.
‘In person’ Workshop for families – Autism & Transitions in Education.
After listening to feedback from some families who shared that accessing online webinars is something they cannot do and that ‘in person’ events are more personal and preferred. We decided to deliver some of our online webinars as workshops. This was very well received last year so we will be delivering these throughout 2026. Our third workshop this year being on the topic ‘Autism & transitions in education’.
This workshop will be held at the Autism Hub on Tuesday 9th June 10am – 11.30am.
Certificate of attendance will be issued.
Booking is required. For further details please see the poster attached.
EXCITING NEWS! We have a NEW cuppa & cake group!
Many of our regular families had raised concerns with us that once their young person turns 18, and although here at the Autism Hub we have our amazing partners – Autism in Mind (AIM) who offer support to autistic adults, many families have shared their worry that ultimately and technically the support for the family themselves stops.
Families have shared with us that they get so much from our services especially our monthly peer support groups (Cuppa & Cakes) calling it their ‘safe space’. We pride ourselves on listening to feedback, adapting, and expanding where we can on our offer here at the Autism Hub.
With that in mind we are thrilled to share that we have expanded our monthly cuppa and cake groups to include a NEW monthly group for families with autistic young adults 18+
Poster attached for further details.
Booking is essential.

Community pop ups!
We have organised some ‘pop up’ opportunities around South Tyneside to enhance our presence in the community and extend our reach to give support to families and the wider community that may not know of our service.

Support to push one of our ongoing monthly support groups – Cuppa & Cake for parent/carers of autistic children aged Under 5years.
Our monthly groups are informal and relaxed, they were created to give families a safe, non-judgemental space to come along and be with others who simply ‘get it’ there is no pressure to engage and join in, we support a person’s right to be part of the groups in whatever way suits them best.
Our under 5’s parent support group was started a couple of years ago at the request of parents with children under 5 who accessed the autism hub, but numbers are now low for this group. We would be grateful if this could be circulated to hopefully increase attendance. Poster attached to promote.
BOOKING IS REQUIRED to join our groups. Families can book through our website using the link below.
All future Cuppa & Cake dates can be found on our website Autism Hub Events – The Toby Henderson Trust (ttht.co.uk)
Could I kindly request that you display our posters, share with relevant families and please circulate with teams/colleagues on our behalf.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch for further information or if you have any questions.
Many thanks.
TTHT at the Autism Hub ongoing service offer ________________________________________________________________________________
Our commissioned service in South Tyneside is for families of autistic children/young people up to the age of 18.
Your child does NOT have to have a diagnosis for you to access our service.
We are based at the Autism Hub, Gordon St, South Shields, Monday – Wednesday 9am – 4pm.
Family Support
We provide tailored pre diagnostic, throughout diagnosis and post diagnosis family support sessions either Face-to-face at the Autism Hub, or via zoom calls, emailed correspondence, or telephone calls which ever works best for each family.
We send follow up emails after all support sessions which include an overview of the conversation held and attach resources and links, strategies, advice and recommendations and if necessary, we print and post relevant resources to families.
Most importantly we are here to listen…without judgement and offer a hug and cuppa if needed.
Monthly Cuppa & Cake groups for parent/carers
Our groups are informal and relaxed, they have been created to give families a safe, non-judgemental space to come along and be with others who simply ‘get it’ there is no pressure to engage and join in, we support a person’s right to be part of the groups in whatever way suits them best. Some parents come along and sit and just listen, while others join in the conversation, whatever works for you is what this group is for. There is such an incredible power to feeling seen, heard, validated and less alone, from feedback we know our group ticks all those boxes. We also invite other organisations/professionals to join us as a guest to share their service offer and answer questions our families have.
All future Cuppa & Cake dates can be found on our website Autism Hub Events – The Toby Henderson Trust (ttht.co.uk) along with other events and information regarding TTHT at the Autism Hubs services.
