We became very scared of a spider who came to visit us so Mrs Gibson has talked to us about how important spiders are. We now understand how important they are in our world and that we have to keep them safe. We then explored our outdoor area to find spiders webs and watch them at work!

Golden Moment!!

Lexie received a Golden Moment for being really sensible and reminding a friend of our class rules and trying to help them.

Reception Class – Phonics/Shape Sorting

Phonics

We’re flying with our phonics!! We’re learning our letter sounds and identifying objects that start with that letter sound.
Great work team!
Remember you could ask your child to practise writing the sounds they know at home.
Shape Sorting
We’ve have been sorting shapes within our environment. We have been discussing the properties of the shapes and then even challenging ourselves to find these shapes in our environment.
 

Gardening with Mr Koomson

Our reception children have been helping our caretaker, Mr Koomson with some gardening today.
They have been helping to tidy up the flower beds, ready to plant new flowers.
The children helped to pull out some old plants and weeds,  they could also smell the different scents from the plants and herbs,  they liked the smell of the mint and lavender.
We can’t wait to do some more gardening soon!
