We would like to say a huge WELL DONE! to Mr Stelling and the team on their successful matches recently.

Lagyate vs Westoe Crown – 2 : 2

The team have been working really hard and are achieving great results.

We were sent a lovely message from Kate Bramley, Year 6 Teacher at Westoe Crown Primary School to say:

We would just like to pass on that the team from Laygate who played against Westoe Crown C last night, were absolutely fantastic!  Their sportsmanship for each other, our boys and the referee (Anne) was first class.

You should all be very proud of your hard work and achievements.

 

 

 

STEM Week 6th-10th March 2023

STEM Week theme: To explore the connection between human actions and climate change.

What does STEM mean?

STEM stands for Science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

This week, the whole school were involved in STEM Week. The children from Reception to Year 6 took part in a variety of exciting and informative STEM activities throughout the week linked to the theme of climate change and human connections. The activities included:

 

  • STEM challenge (science / design technology).
  • A litter pick- doing our part to help the local area and community.
  • Coding using Lego WeDo 2.0- using modern technology to help combat climate change.
  • Professor Bubbleworks Workshop – science and connections.

 

Why is STEM important?

STEM-based education focused on hands-on learning with real-world applications and helps develop a variety of skill sets, including creativity and 21st-century skills. STEM Teaches Critical Thinking and Innovation and gives children the skills to tackle problems confidently.

Robinwood Residential Update
We have had another fantastic day at Robinwood!
We have completed 6 activities including; piranha pool, zip wire and rock climbing and have more activities planned today before we head home!
The teachers are so proud of the children and how well they have behaved and taken on all challenges. We have been informed this morning that we were the best school (by far)!

Harvest Festival Donations

Your generosity is very much appreciated, especially as times are difficult for most at the moment.

All of the donations will go to Hope and Hospitality to help families who are struggling in the local area.
