Autism Hub ongoing service offer

17th February 2026K Millican

TTHT at the Autism Hub ongoing service offer

Our commissioned service in South Tyneside is for families of autistic children/young people up to the age of 18.

Your child does NOT have to have a diagnosis for you to access our service.

We are based at the Autism Hub, Gordon St, South Shields, Monday – Wednesday 9am – 4pm.

Family Support

We provide tailored pre diagnostic, throughout diagnosis and post diagnosis family support sessions either Face-to-face at the Autism Hub, or via zoom calls, emailed correspondence, or telephone calls which ever works best for each family.

We send follow up emails after all support sessions which include an overview of the conversation held and attach resources and links, strategies, advice and recommendations and if necessary, we print and post relevant resources to families.

Most importantly we are here to listen…without judgement and offer a hug and cuppa if needed.

Monthly Cuppa & Cake groups for parent/carers

Our groups are informal and relaxed, they have been created to give families a safe, non-judgmental space to come along and be with others who simply ‘get it’ there is no pressure to engage and join in, we support a person’s right to be part of the groups in whatever way suits them best. Some parents come along and sit and just listen, while others join in the conversation, whatever works for you is what this group is for. There is such an incredible power to feeling seen, heard, validated and less alone, from feedback we know our group ticks all those boxes. We also invite other organisations/professionals to join us as a guest to share their service offer and answer questions our families have.

All future Cuppa & Cake dates can be found on our website Autism Hub Events – The Toby Henderson Trust (ttht.co.uk) along with other events and information regarding TTHT at the Autism Hubs services.

Webinars

We have a number of FREE webinars that families can book on to, covering a wide range of topics – Toileting, Food, Managing Meltdowns, Teens, Autism and Mental Health, Sensory Issues, Siblings etc.   We add new webinar dates on a regular basis.  Check out our Webinar page Webinars – The Toby Henderson Trust (ttht.co.uk).

Borrow Bags and Boxes

Our Borrow Bags and Boxes Scheme is very popular with families.  Families can borrow sensory toys and equipment from us, a sort of try before you buy!  Check out our website link for further details –  Borrow Bags & Boxes – The Toby Henderson Trust (ttht.co.uk).

School Consultation Service

We offer a FREE education consultation service to education settings in South Tyneside where we can arrange an appointment (1 hour) via Zoom or telephone to discuss an Autistic pupil (no diagnosis needed) and their needs. Autism Specialist Practitioners from The Toby Henderson Trust can provide advice and strategies which are tailored to that pupil, as we recognise that each child is different, requiring an individualised and unique approach.

For further details or to book please email: [email protected]

Free training offer for South Tyneside professionals

As part of the commissioned service at the Autism Hub, The Toby Henderson Trust offer free specialist webinars via zoom for professionals from Health, Education and Social care settings who are involved in supporting autistic children and their families in the South Tyneside area only.

For further information or If you would like to book a place on any of our specialist webinars, please visit our website using link to complete a booking form.

www.ttht.co.uk/hub-professional-events

Online bespoke support groups

We run two monthly support groups via zoom – A Grandparents Support Group and a Support Group for Families of Autistic Girls.

For further information  please visit our website page using this link ttht.co.uk/support-groups

TTHT at the Autism Hub is open Monday – Wednesday 9am – 4pm.

Please be aware that we do have a voicemail service so a message can be left, and our lovely family support administrator Jay will pick it up during our working hours and return the call. We do not return missed calls.

Telephone 0191 816 0550. Alternatively, we can be contacted by email [email protected]
