This will be reviewed with a view to restarting after the October half term holiday if it is safe to do so.
Vouchers for the summer holiday have now been ordered.
For those of you who collect from school these will be ready to collect on Thursday 16th July.
For those of you who have e-codes emailed to you, you will receive codes on or shortly after 16 July, 30 July and 13 August.

Barnados programme: SEE, HEAR , RESPOND
This programme will provide targeted support to vulnerable children, young people and their families who are affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) and the measures put in place to stop its spread. It will be led by Barnardo’s, working in partnership with national children’s charities and local organisations. See, Hear, Respond will provide:
- online support to children and families who are struggling;
- street-based youth work to identify and support children at risk of harm outside of the home, including exploitation; and
- support to help vulnerable children to successfully return to school or college if they have not been attending during the pandemic.
The service will focus on finding and reaching out to vulnerable children around the country who are having negative experiences on their health and wellbeing, as well as those at risk of harm. The project will aim to reach those children and families who are not in contact with children’s services, and the support provided to them will aim to prevent their needs escalating. The project will prioritise those most at risk of harm either inside or outside the home, including very young children and adolescents.
There is more information about this on the Barnardos website, please click the link below.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU! you to North East Donations for their thoughtful donation of arts and crafts and books for the children.
Unfortunately we are unable to re-open school to children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on June 1st 2020.
In order to ensure the health and safety of children, staff and families we need to be confident all risk assessments are robust and have been agreed by our board of Governors and the Local Authority. It is a process we can not rush. It must be right for the safety and well-being of everyone.
I thank you once again for your patience and understanding. All being well we now aim to be ready for opening to these year groups on June 8th. This date could change so please keep an eye on any further updates on the website.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or questions.
Stay safe and well
Michelle Lauder Head Teacher
Some of the children wrote and sent poems to the staff and South Shields hospital.
The staff at the NHS a&e unit at South Shields were very grateful and sent a certificate to all of the children as a thank you. They also kindly sent a picture of their board at work where all the poems are on display.
